One of reality TV’s most-watched love stories has come to an end. On Monday, October 26, “Selling Sunset” star Chrishell Stause announced that she and Australian musician G Flip are no longer together after more than four years as a couple.

Rather than posting a short statement, Stause chose to speak directly to fans in an emotional Instagram video. G Flip followed with a written statement of their own. Here is what we know, based on reporting from TODAY and USA Today.

What Chrishell said

“I have a pretty humbling update to share with you guys,” Stause, 45, began. “G and I are no longer together, and we have agreed to treat this public separation with love and respect for each other.”

She was candid that the breakup was not something she fully understands yet. “That’s not hard for me because I am in love with this person, and I don’t have all the information or the reasons,” she said.

Stause explained that she filmed a video because fans who had supported the couple for years “deserved a little bit more than a cold written statement.” At one point she became tearful: “I feel like a little bit of a failure. There’s nothing you could say about me that would be worse than what I say to myself. So I just have to kind of heal and figure this out.”

She also described herself with a phrase fans quickly latched onto: “I’m a lover girl. I swing big.” She added that perhaps some relationships are simply “seasons you’re meant to have with people,” and said she had “an amazing over four years with G.”

What G Flip said

G Flip, 33, posted a statement on Instagram. “After 4+ years Chrishell and I are no longer together. I will always love her, we will always share a special connection and I cherish our memories together deeply,” they wrote. “My head & heart are feeling very heavy right now and I’m not able to talk but I want to thank you all for your support and appreciate you respecting our privacy at this time.”

A look back at their relationship

The pair’s story has played out partly in public from the start:

  • 2021: They met at a Halloween party. G Flip later told Vogue Australia that Stause “got stood up” that night.
  • May 2022: Stause revealed the relationship during the Season 5 “Selling Sunset” reunion, introducing G Flip as a nonbinary musician who uses they/them pronouns.
  • 2023: The couple married in a surprise wedding, which Stause shared on Instagram with a montage of their relationship.
  • July 2025: They exchanged vows again, this time at a medieval-themed ceremony in Los Angeles that also marked their third anniversary, according to TODAY.

Stause was previously married to actor Justin Hartley from 2017 to 2021.

Why fans are reacting so strongly

Stause has long been one of the most open personalities on reality TV, and her relationship with G Flip was seen by many fans as a high-profile, joyful example of a queer celebrity romance. Her decision to speak through tears, rather than through a publicist, struck a chord online, with many followers praising her honesty.

Both have asked for privacy, and neither has given a reason for the split. Stause herself said she does not have all the answers yet, so any explanation circulating online should be treated as speculation.

The bottom line

Chrishell Stause and G Flip have ended their relationship after more than four years, with both saying they still love each other. Stause summed up her outlook in the video: “Everything’s going to be fine.” For now, the two are asking fans to give them space while they heal.
