Lata Mangeshkar hospitalized critical condition
Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Breach Candy hospital in the early hours of Monday. She was down with viral fever, her niece Rachana Shah told India TV. Doctors are treating her for a day.
The singer, who turned 90 on September 28, is on the path to recovery. Her niece said that most likely she will be discharged tomorrow. Her family wanted to make sure that things are fine with her before getting her discharged. “She is a rockstar and nothing can go wrong with her,” added Rachana Shah.
Lata Mangeshkar turned 90 on September 28. The iconic singer became a recipent of India’s highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna in 2001. She has recorded songs in over 36 Indian languages.
Born on September 28, 1929, she has also been honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award and France’s highest civilian award, Officer of the Legion of Honour, besides numerous national and international awards.
In 1974, the Guinness Book of Records ranked her as the most recorded artiste in the history. She had reportedly sung over 25,000 songs between 1948 and 1974.
Recently, the veteran singer took to social media to praise Padmini Kolhapure’s look in Panipat and blessed her for her performance. She shared her character poster and wrote a special note to send her good wishes for the film. The beautiful message posted by the singer read, “Namaskar. Meri bhaanji Padmini Kolhapure ek bahut acchi kalakar hai aur ab woh Panipat is film mein Gopika bai ka kirdaar nibha rahi hai. Main Padmini ko aashirwad deti hun aur Ashutosh aur unki team ko shubhkaamanayein deti hun.
