SANIBEL, Fla.– The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) admitted a softshell turtle after she was hit by a car, Wednesday.

The average weight for breeding softshell turtles is around 7 kilograms but the rescued turtle came in weighing over 12 kilograms.

The turtles injuries were not severe. If she continues to do well, CROW will release her to lay her eggs in the wild, Thursday.
