Despite rain and bad light washing out nearly 2 sessions, South Africa have lasted a little over 4 days.
With the victory, India have now won all of their last 5 Tests along with consolidating their position at the top of the World Test Championship points table with a maximum of 240 points. While spinners — 3 of them — were expected to trouble South Africa in Ranchi, Umesh and Shami have picked up 12 out of the 20 South African wickets that fell in quick time.
Earlier in the Test, Rohit Sharma continued his love affair with the Test opener’s role as he hit his 1st double hundred in the longest format of the game and helped India post 497 for 9 declared in the only innings they played in Ranchi.
